Camp Meeting Information

Native Ministries of the Dakota and Lake Union conferences of Seventh-day Adventists will co-sponsor American Indian Living Camp Meeting to be held beginning the evening of July 10 and ending at noon on July 12, 2008. Our prime location is Flag Mountain Camp, Hill City, South Dakota, in the beautiful Paha Sapa (Black Hills). The Paha Sapa is considered sacred and the church of our Creator to Indian people. What better location than the Paha Sapa to fellowship and worship with fellow Christians! The camp is open to all Native and non-Native Christians.

Phyllis Washington (African American & Cherokee), NAD Children's Ministry Director will be conducting the children's program. Our Dakota women who work in children ministries for the church are invited and encouraged to come and assist Mrs. Washington. Mrs. Washington will provide a Training of Trainers for working with Native youth. Please call Deb Claymore, Dakota Conference Native Ministries coordinator, at 970-214-9666 if you are interested in taking advantage of this unique opportunity or have questions!

Native speakers will provide their testimonies and how Christ has lead in their lives. The youth and children's division will have on-going meetings during the adult meetings. Healthy, attractive, and appetizing food will be served. Tidbits of healthy life-style information will be shared during the meals.

Please bring your tents, sleeping bags, towels, washcloths and toiletries as this is truly a CAMPmeeting. Donations will be taken to help with the cost of food. We encourage you to bring your guitars and instruments to help with the music and to do some good old fashioned gospel singing!

Pre-registration for the American Indian Living Camp Meeting, July 10-12, 2009, will be open from now until July 7, 2009. Additional information is available at the Dakota Conference website.
